The answer to your questions may be found in the book "A Place Called Waco: A Survivors Story" by David Thibodeau. He was there, he offers the most thorough account on such things. I have read the book myself 3 times...I reccomend you read the entire book to form an opinion. I would reccomend you to buy a copy online...but at the moment I am conflicted about doing so. Try eBay. I am sure that you can find a great deal from a reputable seller on the site. Many used bookstores, reputable "brick and mortar" businesses sell thier wares on eBay.
you can get a copy now for $6.99 that's cheaper than I got my copy at another (nameless) leading internet merchant. With deals like that...eBay may well be the king of the jungle!
Mr. Thibodeau gives an honest assesment of the matter, he doesn't dodge issues...and he answers the questions you ask here. No one else amongst the survivors has written anything on the matter.
I suggest you start there and when you finish the book, as you will have to read the whole book to gain the proper perspective of the author, as he addresses the issue, but in a fashion that will require you to read the whole book to understand his point of view on the subject...after you have read the book, perhaps the best person to ask such a question is one who was actually there, and not a community of people who while supportive of the Ministry of David Koresh are not qualified to answer the questions you ask. I myself once asked the same questions, but I asked them directly to survivors, in person, face to face.
