Asleep indeed.
That is one of the key points most people miss in the parable of the Ten Virgins.
This parable was expounded upon in the sevenseals .com site in the late 90's and first years of the new Millenium by Renos Avraam and those in working in his stead. In 2003, I wrote a series of essays, two which expounded upon the nature of Prohpecy, and one in particular on that parable. I was seeking understanding to the times, and in particular these visions and such, when God placed all in perspective with the parables. This was after I had already noted the prophecy of "the temporary shepherd who went astray" as I indicated for 2 months before sharing the same with Edna Doyle to apply to Renos, but likewise many years before I would and only recently find reports that Some of the Surviviors have been quoted as saying that David told them they would forget.
What was emphasized in this, was that God would send a messenger (Voice in the wilderness announcing the coming of the Bridegroom) this was plain, and highighted in the works of Renos, likewise that the Bridegroom would tarry...as 2 preset timelines had come and gone with no event according to datelines set in the seven seals .com site.
What nobody seemed to have seen was the fact that ALL TEN VIRGINS...FELL ASLEEP!!! This explains several periods in History, the 400 years or so Between Daniel and Yeshua, no less than one period between 325 AD and 1823 AD, and at current...1993 to 2000, note that there was a an 7 year period between Houteff and Roden in which the message was in Dispute, and it wasn't until the 8th year that the message went forward publicly with it's own identity. Likewise 8 years between 1915 when Sister White died, and 1923 when Victor Houteff started his Glendale studies. Another 8 years between 1881after the Death of James White and 1889 When Ellen White would be established as a messenger in conflict with the SDA after the 1888 General Conference and the controversy over the message of Jones and Wagoneer.
In 1839 two key events happened. Hiram Edson's wife died and Joeseph Bates accepted the teachings of William Miller.
Hiram Edson in the 1850's provided a great deal of the financial support for James and Ellen White's Ministry.
James and Ellen White were married in 1846, 3 years after James White a Minister, started preaching Millers message. The Millerite movement went national in 1840 with Joshua Himes publication "Sign of The Times" which emphasized the teachings of William Miller that the Imminient return of Christ was paramount to the present Generation. It was Himes and his efforts according to reports, who was responsible for actual Date setting for a time for Christ to return, contributing to the Great Dissapointment of October 22, 1844. In which multitudes many of whom sold thier possessions and many who mourned and became disillusioned and disenfranchised when Christ did not return on the day.
In 1848, Joeseph Bates having converted James White to the keeping of the seventh day Sabbath, began holding a series of Sabbath and Sanctuary Conferences. 8 years after the Millerite Movement went Mainstream.
The "Sanctuary" was a key point of the message of Hiram Edson who on October 23, 1844 reported having a vision one day after the great dissapointment, and later that night, laid hands on his sickened neighbor who was instantly healed. The thesis presented by Edson to his vision was that what occurred on October 22, was indeed a fulfillment of scripture and the teachings of William Miller, That Christ had begun his ministry of return with the "cleansing of the Sanctuary" illustrating that it was not the message of William Miller that was incorrect, but that of the Perceptions held by many to and of that message. Miller, Opposed date setting.
In April of 1845, Edson published his findings in his own little paper called THE DAY DAWN, the first aritcle on his findings appeared in the Day Star. The teaching gained the attention of Dr. F.B. Hauhn and O.R. L. Crosier who decided the teaching needed to be spread, and published. They gained the help of an Adventist Editor in Cincinnati.
February 7, 1846 Hiram Edson's Message "The DAY DAWN" was published on a broad level in the Day Star Extra.
The central teaching of Edson's Day Dawn message...The Parable of the Ten Virgins.
8 years after the death of his wife. Also that fall...James and Ellen White would read a tract by Joeseph Bates and accept the observance of the Seventh Day Sabbath...8 years after Bates accepted Miller's teachings.
While were at it, since we have went so far back anyway...1824 another one of those Elections in which voters had little true choice in the "fairness" of the election.
