Proverbs 24:16
for a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again:
but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
Note that what separates the Just from the wicked here is not in falling or not falling.
Moses, was reported a Murder. Lot is actually called "Just Lot" in the New testament, after having impregnated his daughters in a drunken stupor.
Sin, is Sin period. There is no "worse Sin" or "little Sin" to separate the righteous from the wicked.
They both fall. The wicked actually fall less than the righteous. How often we here of non believers finding fault in those professing to claim Christ. The fact of the matter is that if there were no fault to find, there would be nothing for the wicked to report.
Ghandi, once stated that "almost I became a Christian." When asked why he did not, he stated that he had watched Christians, and was discouraged from becoming one "because of the inconsistent lives of Christians."
The just, fall over and over and often over and over again. What separate them from the wicked, is that they get back up. They dust themselves off, and they go again. The wicked, fall and remain down, sinking ever deeper and deeper, spiraling "into mischief."
