Good points.
"Feasting Free on Wild Edibles" is a great book on the subject. I use to take my copy out into the woods and find an area of heavy vegetation and just sit and try to identify every plant within arms reach as edible or non-edible. Preparation of wild edibles is every bit as important as knowing where and what to pick.
Acorns for instance are edible by humans, but only if certain measures are taken, can they be palatable, and not make one sick.
Just because and animal may eat something safely, does not means our systems can handle the same. Vice verce.
