The proper spelling is indeed "Shavuot" as Baruch pointed out. It is not "Shavout."
As to pronunciation, I remain uncertain, though I consider that which Baruch offered that is should be pronounced SHAV-U (oo)-ot (oat), as I have heard Jews who use Hebrew as at the least a second language pronounce the word Shav-OOO (ewww).
For the record I have heard David Koresh in one of his audio sermons note
"I know his name, but I am not telling you his name, his name is the Word, his name is in the Word, his name is Shavuot"
in reference to the name of G-d,and in his statement he does use the same pronunciation of the word that Baruch noted in his post. Certain statements David makes in those audio sermons stand out more than others, some profoundly so, From the very first time I heard that statement, I never forgot it.
