Greetings,
It is once again Sabbath. The cooler weather we have this week is a nice change... and after two weeks of rainy, overcast weather the bright sun and blue sky are especially beautiful today.
Vektor brought something up on another thread this week that I think is worth taking a closer look at today - the marriage supper of the Lamb. Steven has been emphasizing the need to be continually studying, continually learning, and this is a central idea to that. Yet, I have heard criticism of it, that there is too much, or that we are focusing on the wrong things, or that it really isn't necessary.
Remember the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25? The five who have prepared, are ready to greet the bridegroom. The five who have not, are away trying to prepare themselves at the last minute, and miss his coming all together. Do you wish to be like the foolish virgins? I know that I certainly don't.
That is why we seek to study and prepare ourselves. This virtual fellowship that we share each week is just one way of doing that. We should also remember to continually study and prepare ourselves as we live our lives, in the way that we interact with others and the things that we do - and do not do.
We are waiting together, standing watch until the Lamb, the bridegroom, comes for the marriage supper with his bride.
