The term "jihad" refers to a holy war on behalf of Islam. Referring to the Branch Davidians as "jihadists" is clearly a derogatory tactic designed to conjure images of the 9/11 terror attacks, create false associations in the mind of the public, and demonize the Davidians so as to eliminate any public sympathy for the tragedy which was inflicted upon them.
