Posted by J.T. HALL on 10/30/2006, 10:57 am Pro Cards (sign up) will need to be purchased before Sept 1st, 2007. They are $75 per year or Pro Meet to Pro Meet. Even if you buy the Pro Card in Jan or Feb of 2007, it will be good through the first Pro meet in 2008. It is very important that lifters know that they must compete in 2 events AFTER they get their Pro Cards. Even if they lifted in 2-3 events before they purchase their Pro Card, once they buy their pro card, they STILL must compete in 2 more PS events after the become pro's. This is why it is important that lifters get their Pro Cards early. Pro cards are also good for all NASA Events as long as they are current. Our Pro Cards go on sale right after the first of the year and will actually be good in ANY NASA meet until the 1st Annual Pro Power Sports Event in March of 2008. Link: NASA PRO-POWERSPORTS

POWERSPORTS : Required to do Strict Curl, Bench Press and Deadlift in the Full Meet. Lifters may enter any event individually. No Supportive Equipment is Allowed except a 4” Lifting Belt. One piece Lifting Suits MUST be worn. You may enter any event as a single lift event, i.e.-Curl, BP, Squat, DL or Full meet in any division(s) you are qualified, i.e. Masters-1, Novice, Pure, Open, etc.
NASA PRO-POWERSPORT INFO:
Placings will go to 10th Place and the Best Curl, Bench Press, Deadlift and Total will EACH win $1,000.00, 2nd-$750, 3rd-500 all the way to 10th Place, in EACH lift.
The Top 5 Over All Best Lifters will win $200, $175, $150, $125, $100.
No Weight Classes and EVERYTHING is based on Coefficients on each lift for individual lifts and Total Coeff for the Total Awards. So everyone has an equal chance to win in each lift.
All Award Money will be held in a special escrow account that is already set up. The first All Star Pro Meet will be held in early 2008.
By year 2, the Individual Event Awards will be around $2,000.00 each for a win. Can you imagine doing a curl and getting $2,000.00?
This program will begin January 1st, 2007. Sign up early as you will be required to compete in 4 NASA meets(Two meets AFTER they get their pro Card. The longer they wait to sign up and get their pro card, the harder it will be to make the qualifying requirements of 2 meets BEFORE the Pro Meet. This will be strictly enforced)per year once you sign up as a Pro Power Sports Lifter (PPSL). NO EXCEPTIONS. This is entirely independent of the Regular Power Sports portion of NASA.
This is in addition to the prize money of $1,000.00, $750.00, etc... The $200.00, etc... is Bonus Money for those that enter the Full Meet.
Prize money will be paid in the following Events:
Curl, BP, DL and Total. To enter each event, the lifter must enter each one at $75.00 per event. To enter the full meet, the lifter must enter the Curl, Bench Press, Deadlift and Total for a total entry fee of $300.00. He will eligible to win a Total of $4,200.00 though if he won all 3 events and the Full Meet Division.
I am working on the web page with all of the details.
There MAY be add-on prize money for Top Masters 2 and up (50-59) competitors and for some other age groups. this money would be paid out to the top lifters in this age group regardless of what they win in the regular prize placing. I.E.- If Joe Blow, a M-2 lifter is entered in the pro Power Sports Worlds and places 8th over-all ($75.00) in any division and he is the Top M-2 lifter in that lift, he could receive an additional add on amount of , say, $200, bringing his total winnings in that one lift to $275. Sweet!
This add-on money will be donated by specific sponsors and could be done for any specific group of lifters.
Applications will be available on-line shortly after Jan. 1st, 2007.
Please explain this money deal out to me. What do this
mean Money will be in a special escrow acount> The money is THERE when the meet takes place. No phoney BS. Escrow simply means that the money is in it's own bank account, ear marked for that specific event. No One that is drug tested will be paid until the drug test reports are received.
Do you just have to compete in any 4 per yr. or are their certain meets
you have to be at. Can I do the two that are in my
home town and them 2 others that are close by. YES, but all lifters must compete in are 2 meets per year, between each annual Pro Meet. The first one will be in OKC in 2008. IF it is successful, there will be future meets. There will NOT be a second meet if the first one doesn't succeed. The lifters have one chance and one chance only to make this work.
There will be only ONE cash event per year at first. The first one must be successful before there will be other events that involve cash. The lifters can either support it or not. The choice is theirs. Either way, the first one will occur.
Lifters need to be reminded though, that NO ONE will be allowed to join as a Pro after the Sept 1st, 2007 deadline ( for the 2008 event) as all Pro's MUST be registered at least 6 months before the Pro Event they are entering. This deadline will be absolutely obeyed with absolutely NO exceptions under any circumstances. This along with lifting in at least 2 meets before the Pro Event.
