TaylorMade Golf's official Tour launch for its new R11s Driver took place this week at the Qatar Masters and the new product went straight to No.1 driver model, with 24 put in play. Following the success on Tour last week, the RBZ Tour fairway remains the No1. fairway model, while the Rescue 11 TP was No.1 Rescue model and the Tour Preferred MC irons were the No.1 iron model.
TaylorMade staff professionals including Sergio Garcia, Peter Hanson and Paul McGinley are playing the R11S driver this week. Sergio Garcia tested the r11s driver review with the TaylorMade Tour team at the beginning of the week and gained 1 mph increased ball speed, with less spin, and an average increased carry of 7 yards. Paul McGinley saw an increase in 5 mph more ball speed and after changing the FCT to lower he found the ball flight he was looking for, which transpired into a massive increase of 18 yards of carry.
Ian Watts, Director of Sports Marketing for TaylorMade-adidas Golf Europe, commented "Following the success of the previous model on Tour and the excitement around it, we knew that our TaylorMade staff players were pleased with their current product. However, once we put the taylormade r11s driver in their hands and the players gained an average increased ball speed of 4 mph and increased distance off the tee, they were happy to switch straight away. We are delighted with the unprescedented success, which has been validated on Tour by becoming No.1 driver model".
This week also saw TaylorMade launch a new marketing campaign called ˇ°Driver Loveˇ± to support its new driver with TaylorMade staff players using the R11S wearing a big red heart on the front of their hat or on their headcover.
