Crolma speaks sense here - although my consumption went back up quite fast, and now I've switched to menthols, it's exceeding my previous consumption massively, I did have a period of skipping cigarette breaks at work, and the going without the last couple in the evening, and the first couple in the morning - having a twelve hour break between the last cigarette of the day and the first one of the next did make the first one incredibly nice, as was the first one at lunch after going all morning without a cigarette break (although I didn't get much work done for the last hour or two before lunch, way to jittery) - so Crolma's suggestion sounds like an excellent plan.
