The reality is it is nearly impossible to hide it from your parents because you won't smell it on you as much as they will. Look it is my choice to smoke, but also I am addicted, as I started very young and it was pretty much normal in my home. I have known many people in your position, and those who try to walk that type rope between nonsmoker and social smoker do some big time rationalizations to convince themselves that they aren't really smokers. It's crap of course. I do not encourage you to try it now. There will be time later if you must. Just tell your smoking friends that you totally respect their choice, and in return they should totally respect yours. If they keep on you about it, you will know that they don't respect you and they only will continue to accept you if you too join the club, so to speak. Friendship should be unconditional. You are best to not have the worries that come with having your good girl image blown at this point. Just move on from this for right now.
