I have been smoking Marlboro Lights 100's. I really enjoy these cigarettes. I started smoking 3-4 a day, now I am smoking 7-10. I do get mild cravings for it. I did try regular Marlboro 100's and really liked them. Although, they leave a stronger after smell on my breath. I supressed my desire to smoke for 35 years, and now have decided that I want to smoke. I am debating to continue smoking secretively or just quiting. I don't want to be an influence on young people starting because of the health risks. I do want to tell the world that I like smokers and they would all be welcome in my church. As far as the people who have been smoking for years. Is this something that you wish that you could quit? Do you have regrets about smoking?

: Ok - I can see how that's
: a tricky situation. I
: think you need to be
: aware that although you
: are already addicted, at
: only three weeks
: smoking, the addiction
: is probably going to
: get a good deal more
: severe before it levels
: out.
:
: How many are you smoking
: a day, and how often?
: Most fully addicted
: smokers after a few
: months can't level out
: at less than 15-20 a day
: long term - usually more
: like 20-25, and it's
: common to start to crave
: after about 35 minutes,
: and to be a complete
: mess after two hours
: without a cigarette.
: And at that level of
: smoking it's near
: impossible to hide, so
: if you really can't face
: coming out, maybe you
: should try to stop
: before you reach that
: point. I imagine it
: would be very hard for
: you to do so already,
: but it's only going to
: get harder.
:
: Basically I love smoking
: my cigarettes, and I
: wouldn't want to
: discourage anyone from
: having the pleasure of
: being a smoker in their
: lives - BUT, smoking
: brings pain as well as
: pleasure, and if your
: circumstances are such
: that you regularly won't
: be able to smoke enough
: to satisfy the
: addiction, it's just not
: worth it because you get
: far too much of the pain
: and not enough of the
: pleasure.

: Thank you for the
: advice. I'm feeling
: addicted to smoking and
: I like it. It is going
: to be hard for me to
: give it up, because it
: relaxes me. My dilema is
: that I'm a pastor of a
: church, and many people
: of the church I think
: would have a problem
: with me smoking. Even
: though over the history
: of the church, there has
: been many great
: theologians, pastors,
: and Christians who were
: smokers; smoking seems
: to be the great evil of
: our time. Of all
: societies problems,
: smokiing seems to be the
: one that society
: condemns. As I read
: Jenny's story of
: starting to experiment
: with smoking, what if
: she becomes a smoker?
: Will her church accept
: her? I'm sure that she
: will continue with the
: good values that she
: stands for. How can I
: get my people to accept
: me if I do go out of the
: closet. Should I offer a
: time of cigars and Bible
: study? Maybe this would
: get more men interested
: in being part of the
: church.

: There's nothing to add
: to
: the things Bilbo said!
: If you're such a weak
: person, who has not the
: courage to smoke openly
: at the age of 48, it's
: the best thing to stop
: immediately. Unsatisfied
: cravings will weaken you
: even more. As a smoker
: the need for nicotine
: will dictate your daily
: routine, you will need
: to smoke a cigarette at
: any time and at any
: place - otherwise it'll
: be hell für you! Hope
: it's not too late yet.

: I have started smoking
: for
: various reasons, and
: enjoy it. I have always
: wanted to smoke since I
: was 13, but it was so
: prohibited that I never
: got the courage to do
: it. Three weeks ago, I
: finally got up the nevre
: to try. I discovered
: that I like it. I am
: smoking in the closet
: because as of now
: because I feel that I
: will not be accepted by
: people who I associate
: with. I am a person who
: is not allowed to smoke,
: but wants to continue.
: Any advice for me?
