I had almost the same thing happen to me back in June. I was looking for my garage remote in my 17 year old son’s car one day and I found a pack of cigarettes in his car. My wife and I both non-smokers talked it over with him after we had our discussion about him smoking and decided to let him continue smoking as long as he promises not to quit his team sports.
My son and I went out to buy fast food in his car a couple weeks later my son asked if I would be okay with him smoking a cigarette as he drove in his car. I said that it would be okay. He lit a cigarette and started smoking I was still not use to seeing him smoke but I could tell that he really did like it. After we picked up the food we got back in the car and my son lit another cigarette and asked me to try one. First I said no but decided to try one I went ahead and took a cigarette from his pack and lit one and I smoke the cigarette with him while we sat in the parking lot. The following week I bought a pack of cigarettes and I got my wife to try smoking and we are now smokers too.
