Hi Linda, Rescue clubs are very popular because they perform easily and they take the place of a club that is usually more challenging. Also called a "hybrid" these clubs look like a blend of an iron and a wood. They typically replace the harder to hit 3,4, or 5 irons. These clubs are a bit longer in length than an iron but shorter than a fairway wood. The club head is usually designed to resemble half of a wood...easy on the eye and easy to get through rough or tight fiarway lies. As to which club to buy, I suggest you select the loft you need most in your bag. If you struggle with your 3 or 4 iron you might want to consider a 22 degree hybrid. Be careful not to choose a hybrid that will duplicate the same distance as you already have in your bag...say, a 9 or 11 wood. As a professional club fitter, I suggest you go to a store or learning facility that allows you to try various demo clubs on the range before you buy! Every major club company offers a form of hybrid and each one plays and feels different. Finding the right combination of loft, shaft and club head is a job between you and your golf pro. Let me know what you decide on and play well! ~S~
