Hi Mary Ann, Here is a quick wedge lesson! Not to worry! Wedges have the most loft of any golf club. Your concept of "lifting" or "hitting under it" or "helping the ball into the air" is all wrong! Change your thinking about what you are trying to do. Play the ball in the middle of your stance. Take only a half swing back so that your thumbs are pointing straight up in the air and your left arm is parallel to the ground. Swing through, without the concept of "lifting or helping" until your thumbs are pointing straight up. Now, as you swing through , think of only one thing....the South Pole of the ball!Put your attention on your INTENTION which should be the bottom of the ball. Hooray!!
