Hi Jan, a chipper is a legal club as long as it does not have a putter grip which has a flat surface on one side. A chipper is typically built the length of a putter that can be swung with a pendelum motion. The loft is typically a 7 iron so the ball will travel as a low running chip shot. Adding this club to your bag is fine if it does not put you over the 14 club limit. Practice with it before using it and it it works then use it with confidence!
