Re: Hitting the ground

Instead of thinking "Hit the ball", try to imagine that your club is like an airplane coming in for a landing and then taking off again...a "Touch and Go". Each swing must sweep the ground and then continue on it's way past the ball to a balanced finish. Using your body and chest to turn your arms back and through the swing should help to minimize the lifting of the arms. If the arms go up without a chest turn, they are more likely to fall down on the ball causing you to hit the ground instead of sweeping through. Remember it's "through" the ball, not "to" the ball. Concentrate your efforts on allowing the ball to "get in the way" of your swing instead of trying to "hit and quit" on your swing.
