An A Wedge fits in between the Pitching Wedge which is approx 48 degrees of loft and the Sand Wedge which is approx 56 degrees of loft. It is also referred to as a Gap Wedge. Each of your irons is gapped by 4 degrees and represents a 5 to 10 yard distance difference. Your A wedge is played the same as other irons but should give you a 5 - 10 yard variance between your PW and SW.
