Actually, although a rat's brain is not as complex as a human's, the general workings ARE similar. The same goes for mice. That's why so many studies using those rodents are considered generally valid. And although I don't pretend to be even vaguely similar to a spider, it IS pretty obvious that those if those drugs can do that to a spider, they at least have the potential to mess up people pretty bad.
