Posted by Shmoodog on 3/25/2002, 10:40 am Kevin Maas just stepped up to plate. My dad, staring straight ahead and without turning to me says, " He's gonna hit a home run" I'm like, no way, how can you possibly And away she goes into the upperdeck. Still don't know how he called that one, but my family is pretty superstitious, I think we have the 'gift.' Lets just say that when we were cleaning out my Grandmother's apartment, we found a book entitled, "How To Haunt A House" How ya doing, Grammy? --Previous Message--
Well, there was the time that I was at a Yankee game (It was just for fun...Go METS!) with my dad.
: I don't know if you've ever had to walk up a
: flight of stairs balancing scalding hot
: coffee when all of a sudden your
: mug-carrying hand begins to itch like the
: dickens and you have to try and scratch it
: while keeping the rest of your body
: scalded-free and trying not to tumble to
: your most unnecessary and highly amusing
: death, but if so then you'll understand
: the situation I faced on Friday afternoon
: last.
: Having managed to ease my irritated hand and
: navigate the perilous stairwell, I
: attempted to calm my jangled nerves with a
: bit of a chuckle. "Ha, ha" (I
: said to myself) ha. That means that money
: is going to cross my path" and I
: proceeded to promptly forget the episode
: and waste the rest of the afternoon until
: it was time to leave for the Pub.
: Some 8 hours later, while dancing to Motown
: hits (like the carefree, madcap girl I
: am), I happened to glance down and spy a
: $20 bill on the dancefloor. I pounced on
: it like an Oprah Winfrey on a glazed ham.
: Knowing the orphaned currency would have
: many who professed to love it (but none so
: much as I) I clasped it to my bossom and
: claimed it as my very own.
: Slowly, through my alcohol-sodden mind I
: remembered my earlier near-death
: experience with the coffee-cup! The old
: wives' tale had come true! Unbelievable!
: Needless to say I was shocked to my very
: foundation, and it was a good thing there
: were restoratives nearby or who knows
: what would have happened...
: Has anyone else had an eerie story of this
: sort? And if so, do tell!
: AliasN
: P.S. sorry, I've been reading P.G. Wodehouse
: again.
