water temp out of buffalo is holding at 54. bigger fish are being caught as the water warms . tuesday & thursday trips produced some nice smallmouth . 5.9 smallie was boated on a prowler pro pitch tube .gren pumpkin was the color off choice . along with melon pepper .both days on the lake were good .with a south west wind about 10 miles an hour . mid to high four pound fish were a average fish boated . five fish over the five pound mark were also boated,.most of the fish were caught in deeper water .27 to 34 ft. these fish are staging ,in deeper water . waiting to spawn. water color has been stained for the past week or so . emerald shinners are also producing nice smallmouth . scattered rock piles in deep water ,are holding these fish . humminbirds side view 3d fish finder is the ticket ,to locating deep water structure . steel head are still being caught in the upper niagara river ,egg sacks seem to be the choice .
