We had a Musky Seminar by Guide & Musky Hunter Magazine Pro Jim Bortz at Happy Hooker Bait Shop 7:00 p.m. on July 24th.Over 75 people showed up for Jim Bortz talk on Muskies.We had a 50/50 Raffle for the Chautauqua Hatchery Bait Fish Fund and brought in $170 and $80 more dollars in donations for the fund.Free hot dogs for everyone.Thanks to Brian & Lisa Green for hosting the Seminar.On Saturday July 25th we had the Chautauqua Musky Cash Tournament out of Prendergast Hatchery Launch from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.,There were 38 fishermen,they caught & released 36 muskies.The biggest was 48" and paid the Winner Daryle Braniecki $760 Cash!
We will have another Seminar/Musky Cash Tourney on Septemer 18th & 19th.Seminar will be by Guide Mike Sperry on Chautauqua Muskies,7:00 p.m. at Happy Hooker Bait Shop in Busti,NY on NY Route 394 just before Lakewood,We will have another 50/50 Raffle for the Bait Fish Fund as well.The Chautauqua Musky Cash Tournament will be Saturday September 19th out of Prendergast Hatchery Launch from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.,Cash Prize $1500 with field of 75 fishermen.Sign up will be either at Friday nights Seminar or at Prendergast Hatchury Launch from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m..Cost $25($20 for 100% payout /$5 for Food) There will be a 1/2 chicken dinner at Happy Hooker Bait Shop at 5:00 p.m. Saturday after the Tournament,we will give out the Cash to the winner then as well.
The Tournament Winner must Catch & Successfully Release the Biggest Musky by Legnth to Win all the Cash.The Tournament is limited to 75 fishermen due to the size of Happy Hooker Bait Shop area and Prendergast Hatchery Launch parking area.
