Today I had Mark Cordner from Connecticut on board for a Guided Bass Trip on Black Lake. This was the first time Mark has been to the Black Lake area, and like many others, has heard of the great bass fishing here.
Yesterday a strong cold front with heavy rain went through so today began cool and sunny, and eventually windy...typical post front conditions. Fortunately I had wild shiners on board and Mark ended up catching 15 bass, all but two were largemouth, ranging from 2-4 1/2 lbs.
The smallmouth bite is getting better so I am hoping to have better catches of those soon.
Next trip is Chaumont Bay on Friday.
