I had a couple guide trips the last two weeks, and the bite has been very consistent. The fish have set up on some deep humps, feeding primarily on perch. The dropshot has been the weapon of choice on these fish. I have been marking both bait and fish from about 23-35ft. deep. On cloudy days, I have had my clients rig green pumpkin worms and creature baits. When the sun comes out, I have my clients switch to more translucent colors like watermelonseed and smoke shad. One of the main keys is to trust your electronics. We mark fish, we stay, we don't mark fish, we move. There has also been a bit of a topwater bite when the lake calms down. The fish will come out of the 30-40ft depths to whack a topwater, which is totally cool and really fun!
