THE ICE BOOM IS COMING OUT ON APRIL 6TH WEATHER PERMITTING!!!! For all you folks who are not from the eastern shores of Lake Erie near Buffalo do not have a clue what I am referring to. There is a boom placed across the mouth of the river to hold back Lake Erie ice every winter. The ice field is small enough that they can remove it so the last of the ice should be headed down the Niagara River. We should have plenty of open water without ice in the next few days. Already a few guys have tested the water at Sturgeon Point. Too cold give it a week to warm up.
coming up from Ithaca, NY. Worth the drive on friday the 17th? Whats the best the launch to drop in?? I used erie basin marina for last couple of years.
