Posted by Kevin As far as what those axles compare to, the Toyota FJ40/FJ55/FJ60/FJ62 axles are basically equal to 30 spline Dana 60 axles. There is plenty of vendors out there that have parts for those axles and upgrade parts, too. But, putting them under a Samurai, they should be almost bullet proof in factory trim for you. Don is right telling you that the factory ring & pinion ratio for a `78 FJ55 is 4.11. But, the available ratios for those axles range from 3.73:1 to 5.13:1. In `79, the factory started putting the 3.73 ratio in the US models.
