Hi Kevin,
Yes, you can run lockers on the street. The big issue will be how you truck handles with a locker.
Full time lockers can make a truck a little squirrelly on icy roads because they are always active.
a part time locker, one that you can turn on or off, will give you that best road manners and still let you lock up for off road use. But, they tend to cost more.
I am running a full time locker in my 4Runner and I don't have any trouble driving it in the winter.
