I have been in this situation a couple of times. My friend has a 70 FJ40 that we put a 4.3L V6,SM465,NP205,Dana 44 front and 14 bolt rear.We used motor mounts from Advance Adapters. We cut down the stock Chevy transfer case crossmember to make it fit the width of the Yota frame. As far as the axles are concerned, simply get new perches for the rear and space them to match your leafs. The front is a little more involved. You can't move the perches because of the pumpkin. You'll have to move your springs outwards to match the axle.Avalanche Engineering sells "Full Width Kits" for J**ps but I've never seen a kit for an FJ40.If you can fabricate and weld(or know someone who can) then it's really not too difficult to do.We did a similar setup on my 76 FJ40 except I kept the Toyota F engine, used an SM420,Toyota 4-speed T-case,Dana 44 front and 14 bolt rear.By comparison, going all Chevy was much easier and cheaper.
