An original seat for a 71 FJ40 is a bench style seat, with the driver part of the seat made seperately so it can fold up when the tool box lid is opened. There was no original bucket style seat for a 71. In 1973, toyota installed the first bucket style seat in a FJ40, but the floor board mounts are different, and the did away with the tool box under the driver seat.
