I ran a welded rear. It wore out the carrier after 3 years. And a lock right in the front. It is still going strong.
As many birfs as I've broken I would not run a solid, welded, spool in the front.
Be sure and get your birfs welded up. Longfields, Drewfields, All Pro, whoever.
