Posted by dawnslp I haven't used the O-MATS book for years, so my memory might be foggy on the subject. I just remember it seemed there were a lot of excercises for warm-up every session. I guess they can be sent home, but not with the parents I work with. I have children I have served for three years and I have never met their parents :( I didn't really know what to do with the book once I got it. Maybe if I had spent more time with it, but who has time???

I don't have an opinion one way or the other on oral-motor. I haven't ever needed it for the kids I have treated and I have been able to treat them (most of them) successfully without it. However, I am unable to discount it entirely because of the success others claim to have. I would be a skeptic, but if you could show me, and it worked, I would believe it.
