I've worked with this 2 year old boy for about 4 months (1x/week) and suspect apraxia. Except for an occasional "meh" he basically only grunts "uh" and "eh." I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of with this kiddo, and I am getting no where-NO progress at all. He only signs hand over hand except for "more" and I cannot get any other phonemes out of him. I'm doing some Prompting, trying Kaufman's approach, I got "bah" out of him once when bouncing on a therapy ball (he refuses to get on it again), and "me" during one other session months ago, . Mom reports that he "chatters" on some days, but I've never seen it. He gets OT and PT. I spoke with mom about using picture symbols next. Any ideas? I also suspect lack of breath support to sustain vocalization and so have tried bubbles and horns, but again, he usually doesnt cooperate. HELP!
