My child does this!! He is 4 and has been recently diagnosed with severe apraxia (he has had 3 years of speech therapy and still cannot say many sounds. He has even bigger problems putting sounds together).
No one can tell us why he repeats everything (in a whisper) several times after it is said. He repeats things he himself says, as well as things others say. When asked about it, he doesnt seem to know he is repeating. None of his doctors or therapists are concerned about this at all. But family members and friends are rather frustrated by it.
