I have used an old technique that works on some children. It is called the "Lollipop lick". You start with the "l" sound, then lick the top of the palate to the back. The front of the tongue will naturally fall. Make sure the child drops the bottom jaw and does not round the lips. Along with this, tell the child to place his/her hands together and place on the back of the head. They are to pretend the tongue goes SO FAR UP in the back that it almost touches their hands.
