"Thick tongue" is the only way I can describe this student. He is in Kindergarten and we are working on several sounds. His tongue always seems to get in the way! It is almost like it is just laying flat (although there does not appear to be any musculature weakness). It is just like he doesn't know what else to do with it. I have tried several oral motor awareness activities, but nothing seems to be working. Any ideas to get his tongue moving in other places would be great!! Thanks!
