I am working with a kdgn child who has prosody issues. He uses inappropriate intonation and inflection when speaking at times and it does not seem to be associated with his speaking in a group or on a 1:1 basis. He is making progress in the curriculum and when his eligibility review is due, I was going to staff him out, because his speech and language skills do not impact his academic progress. However, both his mother and his teacher are concerned with his prosody and his mother says that other children and adults comment about his prosody.
What suggestions does anyone have?
