Hi Janet
I have two children with prosody issues; one in first and a new student in second. One of the state reading goals states that the child needs to demonstrate comprehension by reading out loud with appropriate pausing and intonation. Failure to meet that goal prohibits the child from advancing to the next "step" on our continuum. That's how we keep the student eligible. As far as services, I purchased, but just received, Visual Voice Tools, an Edmark product. I just installed it yesterday and haven't tried it out. It gives visual feedback based on a speakers voicing, loudness or intonation. While waiting for that I have had good success using my CardMaster (WordMaster). Do you have one? It's a recorder that uses cards. The kids imitate my sentences. I purposefully use funny, exaggerated sentences like You saw a dinosaur in your closet? Then we say the sentence several ways, putting the emphasis on different words, always taping ourselves and listening. It's been effective and fun. Good luck!
