I work with kiddos who are significantly cognitively delayed and who drool as well. Drooling isn't always just because they have poor lip strength. Jaw strenth and just overall oral awareness play a big roll. Many things I've read to address drooling with these kiddos suggests that cognition really has to increase to target this. My kids couldn't follow directions to blow a horn and don't understand to "keep lips closed". It's tough because it's always a parent concern, too!
