I have a similar question (sorry I can't help). I will check out ASHA, but I'm wondering if anyone has experience with Down's and tongue thrust as it relates to artic. I work with a child with Down's who is 3 1/2. She has been able to obtain a closed-mouth position with verbal reminders (and touching her tongue slightly). I read in a book on speech and Down's syndrome that tongue thrust should not be treated until the child is 6+ years old. Does anyone have any personal experience with this? That seems pretty late to me.
