I started working with a boy with severe VP insufficiency with no other anatomical malformations. We used the Talk Tools horn hierarchy and he went from being approx 80% hypernasal to normal nasality in a little over 2 years (working in a school environment). He went from being unable to blow up a balloon at all, to being able to do so with a very small one. They say blowing doesn't work for this, but I am a firm believer that it strengthens the palate, helps with breath control and really does the trick!
