I have a client who is almost three with a diagnosis of developmental delay and also some hypotonia. We are working on receptive language as well as getting him to use a larger variety of consonant sounds. He also drools quite a bit, and still drinks from a sippy cup; his mom is reluctant to move to an open cup because he "makes a mess", which is another story. Being pretty "green" when it comes to EI, I haven't had much experience with doing oral-motor things with these kids and feel a bit clueless. What types of oral motor things should I be doing? Any suggestions?
