I am seeing a 5;5 old boy in ECSE who has a wide variety of artic issues. However, the most noticeable issue is his voice. He speaks in a very feminine, very high pitched voice- it is not at all typical of children his age and almost sounds as if he is squeaking. He responds somewhat to cues to lower his pitch but cannot do so independently. His doctor wanted him to receive outpatient services, but his parent's insurance does not cover it. What can I do to help him lower his pitch- I know he will be teased when he gets older if he is not able to correct for this problem. Thanks!
