Visual cues can be helpful with this. Depending on his age- if he's a reader, highlight in one color where his voice goes up and in a different color where it goes down. If he's younger, tactile cues- blocks stacked on top of each other. Higher= more inflection. After he masters his abililty to complete those sentences, then allow him to highlight where he thinks should be higher/lower.
