Note jaw position & structure .. as the jaw moves so goes the tongue... and where the tongue rests is where it works.. so if he has his mouth open with jaw & tongue lowered down it is quite likely that his speech will also be problematic.. and it also may be that he needs some more oral motor sensory work before the artic can improve.. also note the teeth alignment... sometimes poor teeth alignment also compound the problem...just some thoughts..
