I have a 2 year old that I see who does not open his mouth. He will imitate words and sounds while clenching his teeth together.Occasionally, he will say a word, imitate vowel sounds, and open mouth. Has anyone else dealt with a child like this? I can not motivate him to blow bubbles, blow cotton balls, or accept chewy tube. Parent is also having difficulty with feeding for him. He refuses to open his mouth and his mom ends up having to open it for him. His mouth/jaw has been checked by a dentist and pediatrician. They report that everything is fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated. This child also is being seen for OT for sensory issues and is possible autism.
