I would take a good look at his jaw. He might need to work on jaw stability. I would even go so far to say that he might not have disassociation of tongue and jaw. Take a look at Assessment and Treatment of the Jaw by Susan Rosenfield-Johnson. Beckman will also have some good information although it's difficult to access unless you actually attend one of her workshops. Good luck!
