Hi! I'm starting to work with a young woman who sustained a severe brain injury five years ago. She is nonverbal, immobile, and her vision is questionable. She is also trached and g-tube fed. Reports indicate that she inconsistently uses eye-blinks or breaths to indicate yes/no for personal concrete questions and inconsistently follows one-step directions. She appears to be still in a sort of vegetative state as her level of alertness varies and her responsiveness is very limited. Any ideas would be appreciated.
