I am working with a 4 year old who has reduced tone in his mandible, lips, and tongue. He has a forward placement of his tongue which results in drooling and a lisp. I have begun working on /s/ in an attempt to move the tongue in a more back position. With cues he can produce an /s/ with his tongue behind the teeth, however I am not sure this will carry over to other sounds which also demonstrate this forward placement of the tongue. Does anyone have any suggestions for working on this??? Especially with the drooling??? Are there any good oral-motor exercises I could use with him?? Thanks for your help!
