I would try and find out from the parent some things that motivate the child and you could use those as rewards for when she does her work or you could use those things to play with while she says her words or sounds. A lot of my preschoolers (especially those that can’t sit) like to play action games such as hiding different pictures around the room that contain their target sound or sounds and then finding those pictures while searching for them with a flash light. Try and get the parent as involved as possible and while you can “control” the session, try to give her as many choices as possible throughout the session so that she feels more “in charge”. Stickers, stamps, and fun games work well for a lot of children this age. You can also check out the post below on “speech books”- which contains many books for young kids that give many ideas for therapy (including ideas on behaviors and artic) Good luck to you!!
