AFFF is the standard foam concentrate used by most manufacturers. FireCharger is a popular and inexpensive brand, which is not listed as having an SFI rating. The system uses a CO2 cartridge and a rupture disk and although the initial cost may seem the most reasonable, the down-the-road costs can add up. Because of this, the systems are less likely to be function tested. I'm not saying they're not, but most people assume they'll work and don't spend the $60-80 just to see if it will. The Safecraft is pressured with air and/or N2 and can be repeatedly tested for free or close to it. We can spend a long time on this subject! I don't rep or sell any product, so I have no alliances, and the FireCharger is WAAYY better than having an extinguisher clamped to the cockpit, but it wouldn't be my choice, apparently SFI agrees. Please take time to go to the SFI website and look at the list of approved equipment, there are 7 manufacturers to choose from, most use AFFF. After watching a demo of Cold Fire, I would try to get in on that. Hands down the most amazing fire suppressant ever produced.
